He later returned with a separate installation team for our shutters, and they were just as impressive—professional, courteous, and highly skilled. The shutters on our sliding glass doors look absolutely gorgeous and completely transform the entire home. About 4 or 5 weeks before we moved into our new home, we decided to get some estimates on faux wooden blinds for our windows. We also needed some ideas about how to cover the sliding glass doors leading from the eat–in kitchen area to the outside covered patio. We started calling around, but because it was a Saturday, we were unable to talk to a live person. We were told to leave a voice mail message and someone would contact us the following week.

We were surprised when we called Carolina Blinds and Shades and Nicholas (Nich) Sifers, the owner himself, answered. He was in his car running an errand and he said that he would be happy to head over shortly and meet with us. He arrived on time, had different samples with him and was able to give us some knowledgeable suggestions based on what we were looking for and what we needed. He had a digital portfolio of different jobs he had completed so we could see the type of work he did.

He is a veteran, which we appreciated, and one of his main suppliers is also a veteran owned North Carolina company. He was very patient, answering all of our questions with knowledge and the experience of being in this business for over twenty years. He suggested a “canister” shade for the glass doors and explained how long it would take to manufacture our blinds and the shade.

He personally measured each window, and once we had a move-in date, he was able to install our blinds the day after we moved in. He came with his assistant and they completed the installation of all the wood blinds in about 1 ½ hours. We had to wait an additional two weeks for our canister roll-up shade to be made with the fabric that we chose, but once it was ready, Mr. Sifers came out to install it right away.

Everything, from the measuring of each window, to the installation of the wood blinds, to the installation of the roll-up shade over the glass doors was handled and completed very professionally. There was nothing left behind – all of the boxes and packing material was removed. All of the blinds were tested before Nich left to be sure that they were functioning as they should. We highly recommend Carolina Blinds and Shades – from the first meeting to the final check – we were so pleased with Nich Sifers and Carolina Blinds and Shades!

It was a wonderful experience working with Nich to get blinds up in our new home! He was very communicative and knowledgeable. We had nothing on our windows (new construction) so I really appreciated that he went out of his way to come out and get our blinds up as soon as possible after they were ready.
